Last summer, I competed in IQCent's demo trading contests to win up to $5000 weekly. I had a blast attempting to climb the contest leaderboard, implementing new strategies each week. It made me a much more disciplined trader. But I was often forced to trade in strange markets like BERENT because only 4 stock CFDs were available. The contests would have been way more engaging if they offered CFDs on popular big cap stocks. Still, I don't think I would have improved as rapidly as a trader if I hadn't participated in the contests. They pushed me to step up my game in a risk-free environment.
